Your data & privacy
PureStream is local-first, but listening to an open podcast still involves networks and publishers. This is the plain-language map: what the app stores, when data leaves your device, and which online services you choose.
You can keep a local library and play open podcasts without signing in. Account sync will remain optional when account access opens. Check current account availability. PureStream Plus is not on sale.
The data map
On your device
Your library and subscriptions, episode lists, playback position, queue, downloads, listening history, and settings stay on your device unless you choose an online feature that needs them. Read the on-device privacy details.
When you connect
Adding, refreshing, streaming, or downloading a podcast can connect your device to its podcast publisher, feed host, or media host. They may receive your IP address and standard request details so they can deliver the feed or audio. Read the publisher privacy details.
If you choose an account
When account access opens, an account will use the identity details needed to create and recover it. Optional sync will store the subscriptions and listening state needed to keep your chosen devices in step. You can listen without an account. Check current account availability. If Plus opens
Card details will be entered on Stripe’s hosted checkout and will never reach S6 or PureStream. Listening history, subscriptions, downloads, searches, and Smart Segment data will never be sent to Stripe or another payment processor. Read the payment privacy details.
Your choices today
Listen signed out, keep your library local, and choose whether to use discovery or future sync. Podcast hosts still receive the network information needed to serve content you request.
Shared Smart Segment lookup is off until you opt in. When enabled, PureStream sends Spectra an episode identifier and public episode hints to look for trusted skip markers. Raw audio and transcript text stay on your device.

No hidden switchboard
Sign-in and Plus are still closed. When account controls open, the account page will be their canonical home.
